Dear Community Member,
Thrive Virginia is a place of action! We are dedicated to supporting and uplifting communities using a whole family approach to help persons fighting poverty overcome barriers to success.
Thrive Virginia is a 501c3 non-profit community action agency founded in 1970 as part of the Economic Opportunity Act to fight poverty. For the past 50+ years, we have supported the well-being of families to ensure that all area residents can reach their full potential and contribute to their communities.
By maximizing the well-being of all, we can help our communities thrive.
Thrive Virginia employs a whole-family approach service delivery method that identifies risk factors that undermine a family’s overall well-being. Family Coaches work with families to solve problems, access resources, and sharpen existing skills. We focus on early childhood education and development, access to post-secondary education and career readiness opportunities, economic asset growth, optimal health and well-being, and social capital.
In FY24, Thrive Virginia provided over 4,036 services to almost 826 individuals living in 403 households. In addition, violence prevention education impacted 1,025 students and 138 adults. Individuals receiving services achieved 1,074 outcomes across seven domains, as measured by the agency’s Community Action Plan.
With your contribution to Thrive Virginia’s $25 to Thrive campaign, you, too, can help children, families, and communities break the cycle of poverty and empower people of all ages to dream, aspire, and achieve.
